At Elite Insurance Partners, we believe in company culture and giving back to the community. In April, we raised over $3,500 for Wheelchairs4Kids, expanded our team, and won several awards. We also sponsored the Florida Strawberry Festival and took our annual company trip.
Here’s what we’ve been up to.
As part of a fundraiser for Wheelchairs4Kids, our COO, David Haass, was voluntarily handcuffed and locked up on a charge of “obsessive control syndrome.”
Wheelchairs4Kids holds its “Jail and Bail” fundraiser annually, putting community and business leaders in “jail” to support its mission of improving the lives of disabled children.
Wheelchairs4Kids provides wheelchairs and assistive devices to children whose families would not be able to afford them otherwise.
To bail Mr. Haass out, EIP needed to raise $3000 for the nonprofit, but it passed that goal by more than $500. In all, more than $80,000 was raised in this record-breaking event.
This is the second Wheelchairs4Kids event that EIP has participated in this year – in January we sponsored the Kimberly Knorr Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal has named EIP one of the best places to work in the Tampa Bay area.
The journal makes its awards based on anonymous surveys of employees on 10 criteria, including the effectiveness of teams, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.
EIP was also ranked no. 53 in the Best of Small Business Awards, presented by Small Business Expo, the nation’s largest and best-attended business-to-business networking event, trade show and conference for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The award recognizes and celebrates America’s best small to mid-sized business visionaries and their outstanding accomplishments.
Here in Florida, strawberry season happens in March, and there’s no better place to celebrate it than at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City.
The festival features live entertainment, a carnival midway, agricultural competitions, educational programming, and of course, strawberries. About a half a million people attend the 11-day event, held from March 1
Our sponsorship enables us to support agriculture in west-central Florida and further our mission of educating the public about Medicare.
EIP is growing, and we added these new employees to our team recently:
Claudia Clervaux
Agent Claudia Clervaux has a passion for helping others, and she joined EIP to become a broker who helps seniors navigate their Medicare options. Claudia values all her personal and professional encounters, never giving up until she has found the right solution.
Through her work at EIP, she hopes to help people feel their best through access to quality and affordable healthcare. In her spare time, Claudia enjoys makeup and music.
Dori Rivera
WordPress Developer Dori Rivera is fascinated with web design and graphic arts, and she loves to create artistic masterpieces using only computer code.
She enjoys reading, writing, art, collecting crystals and spending time outside with her dog. Dori has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in web design and interactive media from the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg.
Kasey Craig
Content Specialist Kasey Craig spent 7 years as a licensed agent before joining our marketing team. She found her passion for creative writing and decided to make it a carrier.
After helping keep our clients informed through content writing for 8 months, she decided to join our team full-time. We’re so excited to have her!
Presidents Cabinet Trip
One of the great things about working for EIP is the chance to build relationships with coworkers. The EIP presidents’ cabinet trip from March 13-17 helped us get to know each other better and create memories outside the office.
Held at the Riviera Maya in Mexico, our trip this year included leisure time, a daylong group excursion and a barbecue buffet dinner featuring a fire show.
April Birthdays
We also had fun with two birthdays. When client care team manager Jamie Winsler’s birthday came around on April 23rd.
We literally filled her work station with balloons.
When CEO Jagger Esch celebrated his birthday three days later, he posted:
“Locked my office door so they wouldn’t put balloons everywhere. Well…. they still figured something out. We have the best team ever!”
At EIP, we are proud of our accomplishments and excited to welcome our new employees and continue our work for Medicare recipients and the community!
